The A380...
To start off with my pet peeves, I'm going to talk about the A380... yes the bloody big plane, that A380.
This plane is more trouble than anything! 9 out of 10 times when either I travelled or heard people travelled in one, there's always a delay.
Not just your half an hour to 45 minutes delay. We're talking hours. Sometimes they even had to change planes!
A few months ago, I had to go over to Hong Kong to attend a funeral. We had wanted to fly over in the morning, reached Hong Kong at 6pm, rush over to the funeral home by taxi to arrive for 8pm for the service.
We arrived at the airport early enough - 1.5 hours before.
Just when we got into the lounge, we saw the the flight board changed. 1 hour delay.
It's ok, we can still make it. 1 hour later, it was another hour delay.
By the time the plane took off, it was a 3.5 hour delay!
We arrived in HK at 9pm (instead of 5pm).
We went straight to the hotel instead of the funeral home. We've missed the service.
We were on time for the rest of the funeral the following day but the A380: big and clunky.
These French-made planes are a pain in the butt!
They've been operating for 10 years, you'd think they've ironed out all the kinks!
On the contrary, whenever I'm flying in a Boeing 747-400, unless there's some drastic problems, I know I will get to my destination reasonably on time.
Let's put it this way, when flying the Boeing 747, only 1 or 2 out of 10 times that my flight will reach the destination very late.
Come on, Airbus, it's time you built a decent plane that's reliable!
