My Oldest Rider (Yet)
I have a soft spot for driving older folks. They are kind, gentle, polite and so nice.
The other day I went to pick up this lady. She came to the car being helped by a young lady.
She climbed into the car, asked if she could sit up front with me - "of course!" was my reply.
We started chatting and I was curious how old she was.
I asked "May I ask you how young you are?"
"I'll be 102 years old at the end of (month)", she replied. (I forgotten which month she said).
I said "That's so cool! I've never had anyone over 100 in my car!"
She said "Yes, people are very nice to me."
I said "Please forgive me as I'm about to ask this really nerdy question. May I take a selfie with you please?"
She said "Well, you could do."
She told me she's on YouTube.
We arrived at her apartment soon and there was no parking outside her apartment block, but I didn't care.
I double parked and made sure she got to the lobby safely. Even ran in to press the elevator button for her.
Then I remembered: "What's your name?" (Someone else called Uber for her)
"Eileen Kramer. Don't forget to look me up in YouTube."
It was a very short ride but it was the highlight of my day. What a cool lady.
And this is our selfie.
